Discern the Time We’re In

The hour is coming, Scripture says very clearly, when we’re not going to be able to work (John 9:4). Now, here we have before us a great day of opportunity. There’s a lot of talk about what the Lord might have in store for the church based upon some of what’s taking place civilly. We look around and it’s almost unbelievable what has taken place in the hearts of men in just one year. I’m sure you are aware of it, but we are not living in the same world we were a year ago. But nothing that’s taken place is by chance, it’s being orchestrated by the Lord. Our God reigns; amen? All of the nations that are rising up and making their boasts are a “drop in the bucket” (Isaiah 40:15), the Scripture says. The heart of all of these kings is in the “hand of the Lord” and He will turn it whatever way He wants for His glory and for His church’s good (Proverbs 21:1). And so, we look at the hour and there is going to be great opposition, there are going to be trials, there are going to be adversities, but we need to reprogram our thinking and see it for the good that it is for the church. To see that it is hastening the return, the day of the Lord; amen? These things are hastening the day of the Lord, we should be rejoicing as we begin to see the change that will begin to manifest itself in an outright hatred for the church.
We need to set our thinking on what is ahead for the church; we need to discern the time that we’re in. If we believe that the return of the Lord is imminent, then, we have to believe that we are in a time when the man of sin, the beast of Revelation, this man—a man, a personality, not a spiritual influence, not a coalition of men, not a nation, not a committee, a personality. A man is very likely on the horizon at this very moment who will ultimately rise up and become that world dictator, the one called Antichrist, the one who will require the mark and, without it. no man can “buy or sell,” this one that will have built an image of himself to be worshiped just like we’ve read in Daniel, who will ultimately be seated upon the throne in Israel, not only declaring himself dictator of the world, but very God (Revelation 13:17). Will the world ever fall for a man standing before them saying “I am almighty god and no others will be worshiped,” and accept that? The answer is yes. It is written; amen?
So, the question to ask is, if this is imminent, what’s happening now in our hearts and minds to prepare for that hour? What changes are we going to begin to see in our society and in our way of thinking that lend themselves to that mentality? Where’s it going to come from? How’s it going to be used or what’s going to be used to influence the masses? Well, social media as just one method, of which you love and stay on for hours and hours and hours? Beloved, I would suggest that if this day is coming upon us, we might take heed what we hear and what we see. We might take heed to come out from among them and be separate. We don’t need to live the way they live. We don’t need that to live, we need the presence of God. We need more Bible. We need more hours in intercession. We need more care for one another, and we need to preach this gospel to all the world and then, the end will come, praise God. Do you think that ought to be a consideration in light of where we are? How’s it going to be that bad? How did it get here? Did you ever think you’d see what we’re seeing right now? We’ve read about it. We believed that it was coming. We believed in the imminent return and now we’re shocked that it’s upon us. So, let’s prepare; amen? Let’s prepare ourselves in this generation. Let’s prepare our children.
