Have You Come Out Far Enough?

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 10:13
Devotional Series: Conflict with the Whore
Teaching: Conflict With The Whore pt. 2 (WED 2021-02-03) by Pastor Star R Scott

There’s wickedness in the church and judgement is to begin in the house of the Lord; amen?  So, we need to examine ourselves, but at the same time, we’re now living in a world that, very frankly, we as Americans having lived in a nation that was under the law, lived pretty peaceable lives.  We no longer have law in this nation.  We no longer are a people ruled by law.  It’s probably a very good thing for the church, because there were too many people that were starting to look to the government as possibly a means, and I’ll say it this way, looking for a way to restrain instead of hasten the coming of the Lord.

I don’t want a better America; I want to go home.  I’m not concerned.  God is in charge.  I’d rather live peaceably than under persecution and I’d rather prosper than be poor, just like everybody else, but this is not my home.  I don’t plan on staying here much longer, come quickly Lord Jesus.  I’m heading out of here one way or the other before too long.  But we’re leaving generations behind us, and we need to leave them an example of our lives, and we need leave them a firm foundation of sound doctrine.  They need a great cloud of witnesses that they can look to and say, “God never failed them, praise God!  He brought them out of Egypt.  He brought them out of Babylon. Hallelujah!  He preserved them until the promise came and the Messiah manifested Himself incarnate, Emmanuel, God with us!”  And that same promise stands firm, “I’ve gone to prepared a place for you, and if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.”  Hallelujah!  If you have that hope, purify yourself as He is pure, John says.

God has given us the opportunity to come out from among them.  Too many of us have chosen to not come out far enough, and God loves us, and He’s going to chasten us, and He will purify His bride.  He’s coming for one that’s without spot or wrinkle or any such thing.  And the reality is this:  any place that He puts us in that’s purifying, that is a chastening process, He will not allow us to be chastened past that that we’re able to stand, and with every trial He’ll make a way of escape that we’ll be able to endure it (1 Corinthians 10:13).  We have nothing to fear, praise God.  Everything we’re going to face is just going to make us look more like Jesus.  Do you believe that?  Do you really believe that?  Isn’t this what we’re wrestling with right now in our own flesh?  If you believe it, you’ll see the fruit or the evidence of making changes to accomplish it.  If we don’t choose it, it will be put upon us, because God loves us.

So, we see the evil, continually.  Now, what kind of an evil is that?  Not everyone that says, Lord, Lord is one of God’s people; amen?  We know that, and we know that there will be those that will do miracles and signs and say, “Lord, didn’t we do these things,” and His confession will be, “I never approved you, I never knew you, you weren’t doing it in My name.  You were doing it, but it was for your glory.  You were building your kingdom.”
