Devotional Series: Conflict with the Whore
Teaching: Conflict With The Whore pt. 3 (SUN_AM 2021-02-07) by Pastor Star R Scott

In the last days, can you imagine your flesh being assisted by supernatural satanic power, never seen on this planet before, to destroy you in this last day?  That’s how you need to start thinking about the day we’re living in.

The thief has come to kill, to steal, and to destroy.”  Aren’t you glad He’s come that we might have life and have it more abundantly, praise God?  But we can’t be ignorant of this hour.  No man knows the day or the hour, but the seasons are very easy to discern.  There’s no question, when you read the First Epistle of John, that the spirit of antichrist was already working in the first century to bring destruction to the church and is still working 2,000 years later.  I’ve got some good news: the gates of hell will not prevail against His church, amen?  But there’s a war going on, and your soul is at stake and the souls of your children.  We know the admonition given to us to make sure we don’t let spiritual things deteriorate in our lives.  This next generation will be less than us and be defeated unless we see to it, unless we make it our “project” to leave them greater than we are, praise God!

In Matthew 24, Jesus says that in the last days—remember, we’re talking about the spirit of the last days.  We’re not trying to reference the Rapture and the Second Coming and the aspects of dispensationalism here.  We’re not talking about any of those specifics that you can get into in this chapter.  We’re just talking about the spirit of the age of the last days.  He says, “And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.  And because iniquity shall abound,” (in the church), the love of many shall wax cold.  But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.”  Aren’t you glad He’s able to keep that that we’ve committed unto Him against that day, praise God?  Here’s that assurance and we see it again later in the writings of the apostles.  He that endures shall be saved, praise God!  “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.  So, we’ve got a job to do in the midst of the demise of the visible church.  Another way, probably a better way of saying it: the rise of the apostate church, the whore.  One of the things that we must be doing in this time is preaching the gospel to all the world; amen?  You can prepare yourself to stand and endure in no better way than to be a doer of the Word of God.  Being a doer of the Word of God is very simple.  It has to do with preaching this gospel, making disciples, and edifying the body of Christ, and that’s our duty in this hour.  As it pertains to God, the whole duty of man is to fear Him and keep His commandments, amen?
