Are You Part of God’s Remnant?

Scripture: Isaiah 30:10
Devotional Series: Conflict with the Whore
Teaching: Conflict With The Whore pt. 3 (SUN_AM 2021-02-07) by Pastor Star R Scott

Isaiah 30:10 says, “Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:” Can you imagine?  Can you imagine as a congregation, you’re sitting out there and saying, “Please lie to us; tell us what we want to hear.  Tell us”—contrary to 1 John— “there’s no sin in us”?  Doesn’t man love to hear how righteous he is and how good he is?  So, we see the hearts of the people and it’s hard to imagine these masses that are sitting out there, knowing they’re being lied to—knowing out of their own hearts, they’re saying, “Prophesy deceits”?

As Jeremiah was preparing the people for the captivity, their hearts were being revealed to them so that they could have opportunity to repent.  Aren’t you glad that judgment begins in the house of the Lord?  Aren’t you glad that God is rebuking us and reproving us and chastening us?  Thank God He chastens those He loves!  Amen?  Jeremiah 5:30 says, “A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land; The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means;”— “bear rule” just means they take dominion and tread on the people and hold them under their spell and under their power.  They make merchandise of them.  They get rich off of all of these covetous people who are looking for get‑rich‑quick schemes.  Never been a greater get‑rich‑quick scheme than the preaching of “give a dollar in the offering, and God will give you a hundred back.”  Nobody bothers to read on: “with persecutions.”  So, here’s the spirit and the people are receiving these words.  Anything to take their mind off the captivity, the impending justice of God.  And this phrase then, “and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?

There’s a phrase that was used in the Word of Faith movement.  They always used it but they never finished the verse.  “My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge.”  “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:”—Hosea 4:6— “because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee….”  So, the spirit that we’re going to see promoted in this hour is get more knowledge.  Knowledge puffs up.  Knowledge makes you very unteachable, if your boast is in your knowledge.  We’re going to be in a day when men are ever learning and not able to come to the knowledge of the truth.  Bible studies, people studying the Word, but with every twist imaginable being added by these false prophets, and the people love to have it so.  Because, if truth is established by your inner voice, by you being the only one that can hear from God, by you being the ultimate exegete, by you spending hours and hours in the study of hermeneutics adding to this spirit of self‑will and self‑rule—we called it earlier, self‑deception—it’s going to put you in a grave condition.  You will not hear the true voice of God or His prophets.

As was said of Micaiah the prophet, “Yes, there is another prophet, but he just never speaks in line with everybody else.”  Amen?  God will always have His remnant.  The truth will be heralded throughout this world in every nation.  There will be men of God, up until that trumpet sounds, preaching the unadulterated gospel of Jesus Christ.  His sheep know His voice, and another they will not follow.  Amen?  You’re very safe if you’re in the sheepfold; if you know His voice.  Do you know what Jesus sounds like?  Do you know what His doctrine is?
