We Will Face Judgement
Scripture: Hebrews 9:27Devotional Series: The Judgment Seat of Christ
Teaching: The Judgment Seat Of Christ pt. 1 (SUN_AM 2021-07-11) by Pastor Star R Scott
Our God is a mighty God; amen? Worthy of all praise, hallelujah! Let’s take just a moment to talk about the judgment seat of Christ. One thing we are aware of is that the Scripture being very clear: that it’s appointed unto man once to die and after that the judgment; amen? So, we know that there is a judgment coming. Hebrews 9:27 is just so emphatic. It doesn’t make any—there’s no need to make reference to the fact that there’s a need for us to comprehend, necessarily, all of these judgments, what they are affecting, but the reality, there, is this life is the only place we can prepare for that judgment. Today is the only day left in your life that you can prepare for that judgment. The past is the past, you can’t do anything about it. We haven’t entered into tomorrow. Today’s your day of salvation; amen? Walking in today’s great provision of the love of God, the full redemption of Jesus Christ. That life that He’s made so available to us, because of His love. “God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him would not perish, but have eternal life.” That “life is in His Son,” the Scripture says.
So, here we are facing judgment. Should the Lord come this afternoon, we will face judgment as Christians, the church, the body of Christ. There is a judgment awaiting you and me. Thank God, if we’re in right standing through the redemption of Jesus, it will not be the wrath of God that comes upon us in that judgment. It will not be eternal damnation; it will not be a devils’ hell and a lake of fire. But there is a judgment awaiting us. So, what are we doing to prepare ourselves for that? I think many of us are often at a place where we say, “Well, I don’t really care about anything else as long as I make it into heaven.” It is our works that are going to be judged and not our eternal standing in Christ, but the question we want to ask ourselves is: if there is going to be a judgment, if there is going to be from God a recognition of jobs well done, then why wouldn’t we want to do our best for Him? Amen?
Some things are going to be judged, and they’re going to be tried in fire and not stand, but let’s remember what that’s all about. Men will see our good works and what? See, it’s all about glorifying Father. Good works are not about you getting a star on your crown; good works are for the glory of our Father; amen? And we want to see that that motivation of love for Father is the greatest motivation. Love for Jesus is the greatest motivation to holy living, to powerful living. We’ve been believing God to come into our midst and to pour out His righteousness upon us. We’re believing God for a refreshing to come among us. We may not quite be in the same condition that Israel was, but I’ll use it as an analogy. Thank God, wherever we are, these dead bones can live again; amen? The worst among us can be revived, as that breath of God comes upon us one more time.
