Take Heed What You Hear
Scripture: 2 Thessalonians 2:11Devotional Series: Are You That Light?

We’ve got to have sound doctrine; amen? Without sound doctrine, we can’t imagine the supernatural powers that Antichrist is bringing, and the delusion that the false prophet is going to be able to affect people’s lives. We are not immune. We need to continually provoke one another, in this last day, to the love of the Truth. It's not just provoking one another to love one another, but for our love toward you—my love toward you is to tell you the Truth; amen? Our love to one another is to tell each other the Truth. Thessalonians makes it very clear that, in this last hour, they’re going to be given over to strong delusions that they might believe a lie, the Scripture says (2 Thessalonians 2:11). We have to protect each other from that.
We’ve encouraged you many times: stay off the Internet for spiritual input. That is not where you go to get spiritual truth. It is absolutely full of false prophets, charlatans. They are not shepherds, because you can’t shepherd somebody you don’t know or see, or your life is not invested in. They’re not there to pray for you and minister to you.
I was just watching something the other day, where a number of Kenneth Copeland’s workers had quit. People are looking for every way possible to undermine these particular individuals, and in so many things, rightfully so. But an interviewer, at one of his meetings, was able to catch him on the side and asked him a question. He said, “I’d like to ask you a question. Do you pray over all of these prayer requests that have being sent in?” He said, “It’s obvious that you are taking the money out of the envelopes. That part seems apparent, but are you praying for the requests?” “Well, sure, yeah. Amen.” He said, “Now, you know, I have a lot of followers, so we have a staff that handles a lot of that.” The interviewer said, “I understand that, but are you praying for this?” “Yes.” Long story short, many of these people who worked in that aspect of the ministry said he has no clue what letters come in there. He has never answered one in their tenures of the last fifteen years.
I was watching one of Rob Parsley’s meetings, and they just brought that week’s mail, so it was time for the prayer requests. They were up there on stage and of course they’re one of those very demonstrative churches. Schambach was his mentor, “Can you say, 'Amen,' somebody?!” It was time to pray, so they brought this gigantic cart. They rolled this thing out there, and Parsley stepped back and started running toward that pile, leapt up in the air, and said, “JESU-U-US!” He landed in all those letters. That was how everybody’s prayers got answered, praise God.
Take heed what you hear; amen? We know that the needs that the body of Christ has cannot be taken care of by one man; amen? Frankly, it’s not his job to pray for all those people. The ministry belongs to the body; amen? We, in the Scriptures, are admonished to pray one for another; it's very clear where our mutual edification comes from. In this last hour, just make sure when we’re seeing some of these things and we’re hearing some of these things--thank God for what He’s done in each of our lives over these years. We're taught to be Bereans; amen? This is just a little admonition. I just want to encourage you in those things and be thankful for where we are.
