This is That

Teaching: Are You That Light? pt. 1 (WED 2024-07-03) by Pastor Star R Scott
I was listening to Gabe Swaggart the other day. He was teaching on relationships. He was teaching more on trying to bring about healing in homes where there had been adultery and unfaithfulness and whatever way it would express itself. The teaching went along well, and at the very end—if he could have stopped forty-five seconds, but he was making his final summation--he said, “And we need strong families to have a strong church.” I said, “Amen,” praise God. “And we need a strong church to have a strong nation!” I thought, “Oh, dear Lord.” “And God’s going to send a great revival, and there’s going to be an outpouring, and God is not through with America yet!” No, He’s not through with America yet. There is not a last-day great revival coming, and that’s the message of all of the prophets today—self-appointed prophets, who need to study the Bible, who say there is going to be a latter-day outpouring of the Holy Ghost. It happened two thousand years ago, on the day of Pentecost. “This is that,” the latter-day rain that was spoken by the prophet in Joel 2:28 and referenced again in Acts 2:16; amen?
"Heaping to themselves," in these last days, "false teachers." It’s so subtle. People are ready to take a little leaven because of some of the good things that they see in ministries. We were just in a situation on our trip to Africa. We ran into some situations that we had to deal with doctrinally and make decisions: are we going to relate to these people or not? It was not a large segment of what was being presented. I want to tell you something: in these last days, beloved, a little leaven will leaven the whole lump; amen? I don’t care how much of apparent “good” is being done, if you’re going to tolerate this leaven for the purpose of promoting your program, your ministry, to tickle the ears of people, or whatever it might be, you will reap what you sow. “A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump”; amen? To be in any way involved with the world is to be at enmity with God. We need to be a people that are choosing to walk this straight and narrow path of the truth of God’s Word, the pure gospel of Jesus Christ, the absolute lordship of Jesus, our Redeemer, the Head of the church, the Cornerstone; amen? To choose that path makes you an enemy of the false church and of the world, when we begin to embrace that and delight in it.
I just saw in Wilkerson’s newsletter in one of their outreaches, they experienced their first martyr, and there’s more to come. As we go out into the world in these last days, we will be hated.
In this last hour, as we’re preparing ourselves to stand--having done all, stand, praise God. Well, before you can stand, you have to have done all. We’ve been given all things that pertain to life and godliness; amen? Are we using them to stand? Are we standing because of our hope of eternal of life or are we standing for the glory of God? Once we fall in love with making God big, making Jesus Lord, once we realize that our whole duty here is the fear of God and to keep His commandments, it brings a delight. It brings a peace. It brings an expectation. They will hate you, but let’s make sure that it’s for righteousness’ sake. Let’s make sure that it’s because of their pure hatred for the Head of the church.
