No Wisdom in the World

Scripture: Proverbs 3:5-6
Devotional Series: New Beginnings
Teaching: New Beginnings pt. 1 (SUN_AM 2023-01-01) by Pastor Star R Scott

We live in an hour when the Word of God is hated.  But why would we care what men think of us (amen?) and what threats they might make against us?  Beloved, we are entering a year that I believe will be a year of animosity toward the church like has never been seen:  there will be mockery of biblical truths, unrestrained prejudice by the secular system, all the perverted segments of our society will be championed and supported. The church, the bearer of the standard of truth, will be hated and despised.  How do we prepare ourselves for that hour?  It’s by fortifying our hearts and minds with the promises of God; amen?  The promises of God, beloved, are sure for a thousand generations.  Not one of His Words, not one of His promises, will ever fall to the ground.  There is no stability, beloved.   Have your minds reprogrammed.  There is no wisdom in this world that will avail us anything as it pertains to our eternal salvation and to God’s ultimate plan for our lives.  The wisdom of this world:  you can become an expert in any category that you want. Become an expert in this world, but it’s foolish in the eyes of God.  The world’s wisdom is foolishness to God.  What are we going to do to fortify ourselves in this year to come?

This world doesn’t just hate us; it pities us for our stupidity and our intellectual weakness and our lack of character, such that we need a crutch to lean upon.  They really pity us as much as they hate us, “It’s so tragic to see nice people brainwashed to put their trust in some cosmic, invisible, being.”

I saw a cartoon I thought was interesting:  It was two people standing next to each other.  One of them was very large in stature.  He had on a super-hero suit that did all kinds of cool stuff, so he looked like that type.  But it was interesting to see that, amid his paraphernalia, were all of these different patches.  He had this banner attached to him that had the American flag, but in rainbow colors.  Woven into this rainbow “American flag” was also the Chinese flag symbol and one other.  Every politically correct slogan and patch was on this individual.  Next to him is standing this little ordinary guy with a little American flag, just standing normally.  The big guy looks over at him and he says, “You’ve been brainwashed.”
That’s how they see us.  So, let’s prove them right; amen?  Let’s become brainwashed, and let’s brainwash our children so that they would not even contemplate any confidence, hope, or trust, in the things of this world.

He goes on to say in this chapter, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart.”  Shouldn’t we start this year with trusting in God with all of our hearts; amen?  This doesn’t just say, “Believe in the Lord with all of your heart.”  It says, “Trust in the Lord with all of your heart.”  The devils believe (James 2:19):  every demon moves in sound doctrine as it pertains to understanding who Jesus is.  They know absolutely who Jesus is.  They have absolute assurance that He has the right to come and torment them; amen?  That’s not even in question: “Art Thou come hither to torment us before the time?  If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.”  Right?  Don’t you wish the church today had as much confidence in His lordship as the demons do?  Yet He lives in us, and we supposedly abide in Him.  We make declarations like, “Without Him I can do nothing”; then, with Him, we do nothing.  We can do nothing unless we choose to trust in Him with all of our hearts; amen?  Find out what His agenda is.
