Occupy Until He Comes
Scripture: Revelation 22:20Devotional Series: The Redeemed
Teaching: The Redeemed pt. 1 (WED 2024-07-17) by Pastor Star R Scott
Amen. Hallelujah! The Lord’s good; amen? His mercies endure forever. I just want to take a little time and see if we can be encouraged in our hearts to really be moved with the compassion that God has for those that are broken, lost; amen? “A people that are without God,” the Scripture says. We have the answer. It’s been interesting to me to watch during this upcoming election how the extreme Christian faction that are Trump supporters are more caught up in nationalism than they are in the kingdom of God. They’re more interested in saving America than saving souls. In this environment, it’d be good for us to check our hearts. We’ve talked much about the coming of the Lord. Those of us that believe in the imminent return of the Lord are really not caught up with what’s going on in the here and now. This isn’t our home. We’re not staying here much longer. Come quickly, Lord Jesus; amen?
As we’re believing for that, we know the admonition that we’re to occupy until He comes. We’re not going to stick our head in the sand. Our allegiance is not to any philosophy, ideology, any particular nation. Our allegiance is to the kingdom of God. With that in mind, as we’re out and about in this particular hour, there will be a lot of discussion about America and how do we save America. What a great introduction, then, when people are talking about that, “What about the salvation of your soul?” Amen? I mean, they’ve already opened it up. If we’re talking about saving stuff; amen? There’s only one thing worth saving and that’s you, praise God! God so loved the world, the world. Whosoever will—not America, whosoever will—may come. Thank God for our country. Thank God that we’ve lived in freedom and been able to promote the gospel all of these decades. But America is no longer a Christian nation. We are an anti-Christ nation. So, let’s not look for how we can save this nation, let’s look for how we can save souls, individually, one at a time, praise God!
If you get enough people saved, it will change the course of the country; amen? It sure will not be legislated. You cannot legislate righteousness. So, let’s be about God’s business and be out promoting the Kingdom of God. You see, most people don’t even know that there is a literal kingdom still to come. For a thousand years, Jesus will reign on the throne of David; amen? With this in mind, we, as Christians, need to look a little further down the road. If you’d like to just tick Christians off a little bit for fun—now I know none of you have that tendency—just tell them we’re sure Iran will survive, but we’re not sure America will. Iran is in the last days and we have no indication that America is. Let’s let the Book make the final determination of who’s going to make it until that final day of judgment; amen? The Lord’s already declared the nations that are going to survive.
