No More Offering for Sin

Hebrews, Chapter 9, verse 22, tells us that, “without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin.” The shedding of blood speaks of the animals that were sacrificed, thanksgiving and recognition of God’s great holiness, and the ordinances that He established. He was behind this ordinance that He set forth, but the Scripture tells us that it wasn’t sufficient to deal with man’s conscience; amen? They were just waiting again for the next year of the Day of Atonement, so they could know that again, there was hope for them. Somehow, God was going to reconcile them back to Himself, but they were living under natural condemnation every time they had to go down there. Every day, they were reminded of their sin.
Jesus entered in once for all. Hallelujah! Therefore, you can enter in boldly, the Scripture says, and find help in the time of need. This fact that our sins are now remitted is what allows us to access the throne room of God, the holiness of God in our prayers. It gives us the right to access the Holy of Holies. We no longer relate to God from the outside and offer these sacrifices up day after day. The price has been paid, the access has been made, and we can go in and benefit constantly from this great finished work.
Hebrews 10:18, “Where remission… is, there is no more offering for sin.” Hallelujah! What liberty! What a freedom! You think, "I didn’t get my prayer time in today, so the devil is going to condemn me." Since you didn’t get your prayer time in, you’ve given access to the devil to come in and make you sick and destroy your business because you didn’t perform and meet the quota of how many minutes a day you should be praying. It may not be to that degree, but some of us face that. You want to know the answer to all that? The devil said you didn’t pray enough today. "So what?" “Huh?” "So what?" But what I do know is this: “Men ought always to pray and not to faint” (Luke 18:1). "I can’t make a habit out of this, but I’m not in bondage. I’m not under any power of the law. I’m not under condemnation because my renewed man wants to have fellowship with God, wants to commune with God. I have bold access through the blood of Jesus to the very throne of God. Why would I not want to pray; amen?"
That’s the relationship that we’re supposed to have. That’s the relaxed life that we live in the finished work of Jesus. There is therefore now no condemnation to those of us that walk in Christ Jesus. Colossians talks about our sins being blotted out. That word “blotted out” is a great word. It means to be abolished, to be destroyed, to utterly wipe out. Those are powerful words. Lastly, in these definitions, it means to erase. Our sins are forgiven through His blood, and we’ve received the forgiveness of sin.
Father, we thank You tonight for Your Word and Your great grace to us. Help us to live free from this condemnation. Help us to delight in our bold access to Your presence. Help us to rejoice in Your blood that was shed to bring about propitiation through faith in that blood for the remission of sins that are past. Hallelujah! You nailed it to Your cross. And for that we say thank You in Jesus’ name, amen.
