Diligently Seeking Him?
Scripture: Hebrews 11:6Devotional Series: Preparing for Persecution
Teaching: Preparing For Persecution pt. 2 (WED 2021-04-14) by Pastor Star R Scott
What choices are we making today to let people know we’re Christians? What choices are we making today to boldly stand up and become those epistles that are to be read of men? To speak His Word with boldness and authority, praise God! This conflict that we’re going into, this war that we’re going into, there needs to be preparation. I’m talking about fellowshipping with Him more. I’m talking about the absolute awareness in your own heart and mind that we’re fulfilling that communion with Jesus that’s necessary in this hour that’s coming. Because if we abide in Him and His words abide in us, then we can ask what we would and it’d be done; amen? See, we’re living in an hour where our prosperity can choke the Word of God out of our lives. We all know that; we’ve studied it so many times. Are we rich toward God? We can look at it and ask ourselves a question based upon fruit. You know, how are we in the midst of our prosperity? What are we doing to minister to the needs of others that don’t have the same provision that we do? What are we doing? We saw as we studied the rich man not long ago that if we’re prospering to that degree that we’re to be ready to communicate and ready to distribute. What are we doing to further the kingdom of God? Those are steps we need to be making now as we’re preparing for this persecution that’s coming upon the earth.
It’s great when we read all of these great victories here in Hebrews 11. Without faith, it’s impossible to please God, the Scripture tells us. He that cometh to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him, verse 6 says. If God’s going to be our source in this time of persecution, that phrase says, “He is a rewarder of those that” what? “Diligently seek him.” Let me ask you something, “Are you upping your game?” “Well, you know, I’m praying more, and I’ve been reading an extra chapter more than I used to.” That’s great. Keep doing it. But are you loving your brother more? How are you doing with the aspect of humility? Has ambition got you by the throat? Are you forgiving as you’ve been forgiven? Loving as you’ve been loved? You see, those are the things that prove that the Word of God is alive in us and working. And you’ll bring forth fruit, and your fruit will remain. When we’re talking about fruit that is the evidence loving God, it’s not just soul winning, we’re talking about the fruit of the Spirit. We’re talking about the character of Jesus. It might help us to understand that as we’re striving for that character of Jesus, as we’re seeking humility, as we’re looking to become servants that the greatest is servant of all. As we’re coming and realizing that only by faith are we going to be able to stand in this last hour, we need to ask ourselves this: “Is my faith the faith of a little child or the faith of a scholar?” Suffer the little children to come unto Me, for such is the kingdom of God. Prepare for persecution. It’s coming.
