Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 4:17
Devotional Series: Sovereignty and Prayer
Teaching: Sovereignty and Prayer pt. 2 (SUN_AM 2024-11-24) by Pastor Star R Scott

God’s so good to us; amen?  The Lord is good and His mercies endure forever, hallelujah!

We’ve been talking about the goodness of God and His great mercy to us, preparing us for that soon coming.  Thank God it’s sooner than when we first believed; amen?  I’ve just been, I’m sure like many of you these last days, just meditating on the coming of the Lord.  Just caught up looking into the heavens, for at any moment, at any moment—there’s nothing that prohibits that trumpet from sounding.  Just think about it.  That great cry, “Come up hither,” as we read in the book of Revelation, and as soon as He makes that declaration, the graves are going to burst open.  The dead in Christ are going to rise.  Think about that.  Our loved ones are going to rise, and they’re going to be united and be made whole as they take on these new eternal bodies that God has prepared for us.  We’ll be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye.  We’re going to be caught up to be with Him, the Scripture says.  We’re going to meet Him in the air, and “so shall we ever be with the Lord.

All the major players are in place right now.  Isn’t it tremendous, just to watch what’s going on in Iran?  We might even take a little time here, somewhere in the near future, to just do a survey again of the players of these last days.  What you’re seeing with your natural eye, don’t let it distort from what you know the Scripture teaches.  Israel is not going to beat Iran.  Okay?  So, you know, we’re looking at all the news.  We know that Israel is the apple of God’s eye, but He’s going to allow them to be trodden down under the Gentiles.  There’s going to be a pseudo peace that’s made with the Antichrist as they get ready to go into Tribulation.  Russia is becoming a player again.  We thought, you know, that after the Cold War and the dispersion of the USSR that maybe the king of the North had already been diluted and dissolved—and Russia becoming a major player again.  The Bible says God’s going to put a hook in the king of the North’s jaw and draw him down into the Middle East.  The king of the East, China, is going to move across the Euphrates, the Scripture says.  Many great and exciting things that are taking place.

America is not found in end‑time prophecy.  Nobody knows what’s going to happen to us.  But before this country goes down, before all of these events take place, that trumpet’s going to sound, and we’re going to be taken out of here, praise God.  Then we will return with Him, the Scripture says, as He returns for that final judgment and destruction of all of the enemies of His covenant, and He’s going to establish that new millennial reign.  For a thousand years Satan’s going to be locked up.  The lion will lie down with the lamb.  We’ll be reigning.  We don’t know specifically how, according to Scripture, but we’re going to be ruling and reigning with the Lord in this time of the millennial reign.  There will still be a people, masses who are being born again and being born into the eternal kingdom.  What an exciting time that will be!

Then, when it’s all finished, that first resurrection that takes place of those to judgment and wrath, and cast into eternal damnation, and there will be a new heaven and there will be a new earth.  Hallelujah!  Come quickly, Lord Jesus.  Amen?  Every tear will be wiped away.  What a reckoning with family and friends; amen?  Yet, Jesus will be the focal point.  Oh, there will be a great time of fellowship, I believe, among the saints.  But all of our hearts and all of our minds and our eyes will be turned to He Who sits upon the throne, and we will cry out, “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty!”  He’s worthy of our praise.  But the Scripture says we’re to occupy until He comes, so that’s what we’re doing.  Freely we’ve received and freely, then, we’ll be giving until that trumpet sounds.  Come quickly, Lord Jesus.
