Seek Him with Your Whole Heart
Scripture: Psalm 119:2Devotional Series: Effectual Fervent Prayer
Teaching: Effectual Fervent Prayer pt. 5 (WED 2023-04-05) by Pastor Star R Scott
Oh, that we could come to that place of rest. Wouldn’t you love it. It’s available to us. He did everything with the same weaponry we have. Wouldn’t you love to be able to experience that rest and peace to the place where you could really say with Jesus, “Father, I know that when I pray You hear me”? Amen? Not a doubt. Not one doubt. “I know that when I pray You hear me.” What caused Him to be able to make a statement like that? Because He always prayed the will of God. He had no self-agenda. Jesus was agenda-free. “I came not to do My will but the will of He Who sent Me.” Amen? There’s confidence that I’m asking and interceding according to the will of God. “If you ask anything according to My will,” He says, “I will do it,” praise God. I’ll go back and reiterate, as it needs to be said again: agenda-free.
Are we still caught up trying to direct God and tell Him what’s best for our lives? How many of you think that you know the best way for your wayward children to be reached and to return? Do you know how it should be done? How should God love them? Are you going to demand that God loves them according to your perception? You see, this is where we get into our biggest problems in the prayer closet. We begin to insert our will. “…And of course, for my wayward child to come back, I surely want no harm done in their lives. Surely, they can defy God and not have any consequences.” Amen? You know, there are certain people that have trouble releasing their children. We wouldn’t verbalize it, but the fact of the matter is, “I don’t trust you, God. Here’s how I want this done, and I expect the fact that my children will be treated with the silk pillow policy.”
Can we pray according to the will of God and turn them over to Satan for the destruction of their flesh that their spirit, their souls, might be saved? Do you know that’s how we pray for those who are apostates, who hate God, who have vaunted themselves? If we’re going to pray successfully, we have to pray according to the will of God. Those that have apostatized, those that are heretics, those that lie against our God.
Do you know one of the biggest lies of our children, those that have lied against God? “Well, I did it. I did it. I did the Word. I sought God with all of my heart, and He failed me. I sought Him with all of my heart, and I wasn’t able to find Him and know Him in a way that transformed my life, that caused regeneration to take place in my life. The reason I’m not serving God today is His fault. Ultimately, it is His fault because He gave me such lame parents. If I’d been given parents that raised children properly, that taught the Word, and that loved me properly, I’d be serving the Lord today.” You’re a liar. Amen? So, I’m going to pray for you, my child. “Satan, destroy their flesh. Bring them to the place of surrender. Father, I get out of Your way and entrust my child to You. For You are a God of love, and You are not willing that any would perish. Your mercies endure forever.”
