Such As I Have

Scripture: Acts 3:6
Devotional Series: Why Tongues
Teaching: Why Tongues? pt. 4 (SUN_AM 2023-07-23) by Pastor Star R Scott

We have to be involved in the ministry.  We have to make ourselves available.  Jesus came not to do His will, but the will of He that sent Him.  We should take every opportunity available to be able to minister the gospel.  As we go prayerfully through the day, we believe that God will lead people into our paths; amen?  We’ve talked about that, walking in the Spirit.  We’re not talking about going out and grabbing every person you see by the lapels and start preaching to them.  We’re believing that, supernaturally, the Holy Spirit will lead us, just as He led Peter and John that day in the temple to the lame man.  We’ve talked about that before, how many times they passed him by.  As we’re keenly listening, now the Holy Ghost says, “Today’s the day, of all days.”  We can’t make it happen.  We’re available for God to do it.  We can’t make it happen, but we’re available to God to do it through us.  “Look on us (Amen?) look on me.  Silver and gold have I none; but what I have I give to you.  In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.”  Hallelujah.

That great unction that came in him because of that inner voice.  “This is the way, this is the time, walk in it.”  So, that power, then, being made available to us they received, as we know, on that great day of Pentecost.  Acts, Chapter 1, verse 4, “Go and tarry and wait for the promise.”  The promise of the power, the promise of the Purifier, that great Paraclete, the Comforter who comes.  You’ll never be left alone.  That Comforter will be at your side, giving you ballast for the rest of your life; hallelujah.  Whenever you’re weak, the Holy Ghost is there propping us up; amen?  That’s what that great Comforter is, the enabler, the revealer.  How we need to get quiet and hear what the Spirit is saying to the church today.

They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and they spoke in tongues as the Holy Spirit gave them utterance.  We were talking about the aspect that most of the church, today, would be open to the infilling, or the baptizing with the Holy Spirit, if it wasn’t necessary to speak in tongues.  What a job Satan has done on the church.  That one thing that the church is so fearful of, so embarrassed or ashamed of.  And why are they ashamed of it?  Because they are incapable of explaining it to the natural mind and they don’t want to be in a place where they don’t have an answer for people.  His ways are not our ways; His ways are above our ways.  “The natural mind cannot receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him,” amen?  It is foolish to the natural mind to speak a language you don’t know; amen?  How do you explain that?  You don’t, you do it by faith because God has revealed it as the initial physical proof and evidence that a man has actually been baptized in the Holy Ghost.
