Let God be True
Scripture: Romans 3:4Devotional Series: God's Strength
Teaching: God's Strength pt. 1 (SUN_AM 2021-10-31) by Pastor Star R Scott
One of the things that might help us sociologically as it pertains to the time we have left here before the Lord comes back is it would be nice if the church could get squared away on some of this stuff and let God’s Word be true and everything else a lie. And that would be a good catalyst to start with. And we can use all of these things as just topics to look at and go, “How would I pray about that? How do you pray about the perceived racial problems in America today? How do you pray about that?” You’ve got to pray biblically.
You can’t take up any of the humanistic philosophies from any source. God tells us, the church, how we relate to one another and it’s in love, and it’s in preferring one another, and we could go down the line. But we’re talking about prayer. You’re not praying scripturally if you’re praying preference upon any group of people, because God’s not willing that any would perish. Amen? God, as it pertains to His kingdom and His children, is no respecter of any persons, so how do we dare step in and prefer a certain person or group of persons or genders?
How do we pray about these things? It is very simple. The gender problem has already been taken care of scripturally. The man was not made for the woman; the woman was made for the man. Mic drop, clunk—we’ve handled that subject. Now, he gets a little more into defining that truth, but that’s the truth! What brought sin into the world? Taking that one simple statement and putting it out of order, and look where we are today. You know, the old saying—right? Where would man be without woman? In the garden.
We need you, ladies. Ever since Adam—ever since man abdicated his proper role and his duty of honoring God over woman, God saw to it and ordained that man needs woman to bring about that fulfillment of the establishing of His kingdom here on the Earth and the woman’s role of helpmeet. Ladies, your role to be a helpmeet, to come alongside, to assist, to speak only biblical principles, and not be someone who’s trying to bring deception or manipulation, that man hearing from your mouth strictly the Word of God from the feminine perspective, will keep him on course. And everything you need God will supply to you, because you are the weaker vessel and in obedience; He will see to it that you’re not taken advantage of.
Prayer. So, what do you pray for? We, as women, we want to get over here, and we start praying what we know is the will of God, and I’ve seen and I believe, and we’re praying that. Why don’t you just pray for a more godly husband—amen?—that would lead into truth?
We don’t need you at the helm. We don’t need you getting the revelation and the truth for the household. That’s your husband’s role after input and counsel from you. Any man who will not receive the will of God of that established helpmeet is a fool and doesn’t deserve to be in any place of authority and dishonors his head. Man dishonors his head. Man dishonors his head, Christ.
So, you see, when we pray, these are the things we pray for. We go to the Scriptures and we say, “What is the order of God? What is the ultimate will of God?” That His kingdom be established. If what I’m believing for—if what I’m going to give my time and energy to—is not the establishing of the kingdom of God, is not the edifying of the body of Christ, I shouldn’t be taken up with all that stuff. That will be added to me if I seek first the kingdom. Is that the Bible principle? So now we can pray in faith. Now we can pray boldly, the Scripture says.
Oh, my goodness. Well, that’s another great promise. We’re going to a place that has no time. Hallelujah! And we can just praise Him forever; amen?
Father, thank You for Your presence, Your will, Your love for us. If we’re going to be a people of prayer, then we need to know what to pray, and so we ask, Father, as we continue in Your Word here in this study, that it would become clear to us what we pray. And that clarity will come as we abide in the vine, and if we would abide in the vine—without You we can do nothing—if we would abide in the vine, we will be able to ask what we will, and it will be done unto us. And for that, Father, we give you all the praise, all of the honor, in Jesus’ name; amen.
